1. Introduction and Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Appeal Central ("Appeal Central," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with Appeal Central, a free tool that helps US Amazon sellers understand Seller Central notices.

This Privacy Policy applies to:

In this Privacy Policy, the Site, the Chat, and the Plugin are together called the "Services." This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party services, such as Claude or the code repository host, or to the separate paid services of our human expert team, each of which has its own terms and privacy policy (see Section 13).

Please also read our Terms of Use, which govern your use of the Services. Chat conversations are saved only in anonymized form. We keep your contact details only if you choose to fill in the optional contact form (see Sections 2.1 and 4).

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide voluntarily through the Chat

The Chat is separate from the Plugin. We keep two kinds of Chat information, and we keep them apart.

Anonymized chat records. Before a conversation is saved, we remove identifying details from it, such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, store or brand names, seller or merchant IDs, ASINs linked to a seller, order or account numbers, and links to your store. We save only the case content:

We do not save the full conversation as you typed it, and we do not save your IP address with the record.

Optional contact form. The Site has a contact form (and, after a MEDIUM or HARD result, the Chat may point you to it) so our human expert team can help with your case. Filling it in is your choice. We save what you enter in the form (your name if you give it, your email address, and a short description of your case) only if you tick a box confirming your consent. The details are stored in our database, and an email notification with the details is sent to our team so they can follow up. If you do not fill in the form, we do not keep your contact details.

Please share only what is needed to describe your case, and never share the items listed in Section 8.6.

2.2 Information collected automatically

The Site is a static website. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising tools, tracking pixels, or third-party scripts. We do not track you across other websites or build profiles about you.

Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record minimal standard server logs when you visit the Site or download a file. These logs may include your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page or file requested, your browser type (user agent), and the referring page. They are used only to keep the Site secure and running, to prevent abuse, and to troubleshoot problems, and are kept for a limited period.

When the Chat is live, your IP address may also be processed briefly in memory to apply rate limits and prevent abuse. We do not store your IP address with any chat record.

2.3 The Plugin collects nothing

The Plugin is instruction-only. It runs inside your own Claude Code session, under your own agreement with Anthropic. It has no servers, network calls, hooks, or tracking. We do not receive, collect, or store anything you type or paste while using the Plugin. Anthropic processes your Claude conversations under Anthropic's own terms and privacy policy, not this Privacy Policy. If you install the Plugin from its public code repository, that host's terms and privacy policy apply to the download.

2.4 Contact form security

To prevent abuse of the contact form, we keep a one-way hash of your IP address for up to one hour to limit how many submissions can be sent. We do not store your IP address itself with your contact details. The form uses no cookies or tracking tags.

3. How We Use Information

We use Chat information internally only:

We may also use information to comply with legal obligations and protect our legal rights.

We do not use Chat information for advertising or profiling.

We use server log data only for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and operating the Site.

If we want to use personal information for a purpose that is materially different from those described here, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required by law, ask for your consent first.

Above the Chat's message box we show a short notice that conversations are saved in anonymized form to improve answers. If you do not agree, please do not use the Chat. You can use the Plugin instead, which sends nothing to us.

The contact form has its own consent box. We save your contact details only if you tick it. You may withdraw that consent at any time by asking us to delete your contact form details (see Section 9). Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before the withdrawal.

Where privacy laws outside the United States apply to our processing (for example, if you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom), we rely on the following legal bases: your consent, for contact form details; our legitimate interests in improving the Chat, for anonymized chat records; our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Services and preventing abuse, for server logs; taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, when you ask to be connected with our human expert team; and compliance with our legal obligations.

5. Service Providers (Processors) and Other Disclosures

We use a small number of service providers to operate the Services. They process personal information on our behalf, only on our instructions, and only as needed to provide their services to us. We require them by contract to protect the information and not to use it for their own purposes. Our service providers are:

We may also disclose personal information:

6. No Sale or Sharing of Personal Information

We never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes.

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the "CCPA"), to "sell" means to disclose personal information to a third party for money or other valuable consideration, and to "share" means to disclose personal information to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising, whether or not money is exchanged. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the past 12 months, and we have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

Disclosures to our service providers described in Section 5 are made for business purposes under written contracts and are not a "sale" or "sharing" under the CCPA. Because the Site uses no cookies, advertising technology, or analytics, nothing on the Site sells or shares your information.

7. Data Retention

We keep anonymized chat records and contact form details for 2 years. After that, we delete them. We delete contact form details sooner if you ask us to (see Section 9), unless we must keep certain information to comply with a legal obligation, resolve a dispute, or enforce our agreements, in which case we keep it only as long as needed for that purpose.

Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period.

If you go on to engage our human expert team for paid services, the records of that engagement are governed by its separate terms and privacy policy.

8. Security and Data Minimization

8.1 How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. These include encryption in transit and at rest, access to Chat information restricted to authorized personnel who need it, with contact form details limited to those helping with your case, on a least-privilege basis and with access logged, and automatic redaction of obvious secrets (such as passwords, one-time codes, API keys, and card numbers) before anything is stored. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

8.2 No security warranty

No method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is fully secure. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the security of the Services or of any information you provide, and we do not guarantee that information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered, lost, or destroyed.

8.3 Information you provide is at your own risk

You provide any information to us voluntarily and at your own risk. We do not use the information we receive for any purpose beyond those described in this Privacy Policy. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we accept no responsibility or liability for any leak, breach, unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure of information, or for any use of information by anyone, including third parties, however caused.

8.4 Release and indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you release Appeal Central and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from any claims relating to information you provide, and you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold them harmless from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees and data-related claims, arising out of or relating to information you submit or your use of the Services, as further described in our Terms of Use.

8.5 Rights that cannot be limited

Nothing in this Privacy Policy limits or waives any right that cannot be limited or waived under applicable law, including your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, other state privacy laws, and the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation where they apply. We will meet any security incident notification obligations required by applicable law.

8.6 What you should never share

Appeal Central does not need, and will never ask for, sensitive account credentials. Please never share the following in the Chat or the Plugin:

If you share any of these by mistake, please contact us at privacy@appeal-central.com and we will remove them where we can find them.

9. Your Privacy Rights

9.1 Rights for all users

Wherever you live, you may ask us to access, correct, or delete your contact form details by emailing privacy@appeal-central.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

Anonymized chat records. Because we remove identifying details before saving a conversation, we usually cannot tell which record came from you. In most cases we therefore cannot find, show, or delete a specific anonymized record. We will tell you if this applies to your request.

9.2 California residents (CCPA and CPRA)

If you are a California resident, and to the extent the CCPA applies to us, you have the following rights:

In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information, as defined by the CCPA. Each category comes from you or your device, is used for the purposes in Section 3, and is disclosed for a business purpose only to our service providers:

We do not collect biometric information or precise geolocation, and we do not draw inferences from your information to create a profile about you.

9.3 Residents of other US states

Residents of other US states with comprehensive privacy laws (such as Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas, Utah, and Virginia) may have rights to confirm whether we process their personal data, to access it, to obtain a portable copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We do not engage in targeted advertising, sales of personal data, or such profiling. We will honor these rights to the extent the applicable law applies to us.

If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with the word "Appeal" in the subject line. We will respond to your appeal within the period required by law. If your appeal is denied, you may contact the attorney general of your state.

9.4 How to submit a request

To submit a privacy request, including a deletion request, email privacy@appeal-central.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." Please tell us what you are asking for and send it from, or include, the email address you entered in the contact form.

Verification. We check that the request comes from the email address in the contact form, for example by replying to that address. We use any extra details only to verify the request.

Authorized agents. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require the agent to provide your signed written permission, and we may ask you to verify your identity directly with us or to confirm that you gave the agent permission, unless the agent holds a valid power of attorney under California Probate Code Sections 4121 to 4130.

Timing and fees. We will confirm receipt of a request within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days. If we need more time, up to a further 45 days, we will tell you why. We do not charge a fee to process a request unless it is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

9.5 Users outside the United States

If you are located outside the United States, you may have rights under the laws of your country, such as the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Contact us to exercise them.

10. California Online Privacy Protection Act and Do Not Track

You can visit the Site anonymously. A link to this Privacy Policy appears in the footer of every page of the Site.

Do Not Track. Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. The Site does not track visitors over time and across third-party websites, and it uses no cookies or analytics, so it does not respond differently to DNT signals. We do not allow third parties to collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different websites through the Site.

You can review and request changes to your information as described in Section 9. We will tell you about changes to this Privacy Policy as described in Section 14.

11. Children's Privacy

The Services are intended for business users who are 18 years of age or older and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, including children under 13 as defined by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. If we learn that we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we will delete it promptly. If you believe this has happened, please contact us at privacy@appeal-central.com.

12. International Data Transfers

We and our service providers may process and store information in the United States or other countries. Data protection laws in those countries may differ from the laws where you live. When we transfer personal information across borders, we take steps, such as contractual safeguards with our service providers, to protect it as described in this Privacy Policy. By using the Services, you understand that your information may be processed outside the United States.

13. Third-Party Links and Services

The Services link to or rely on services that we do not control. Their own terms and privacy policies apply, and we are not responsible for their practices:

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date above. If we make material changes, we will give more prominent notice, such as a notice on the Site or above the Chat, before the changes take effect, and we will ask for your consent where required by law. We will not apply a materially less protective change to information collected before the change without your consent where consent is required.
